Louis Mendrisse was born in Paris on May 19, 1955 where he still resides.
Mendrisse’s paintings, which have been described as mysterious, fantastical and even strange, maybe unusual, but are hauntingly memorable. While the work evokes a mystical dream world, the images and faces he portrays are always harmonious, reflecting more joy than distress and sorrow.
Mendrisse’s work, which has won numerous art awards, has been exhibited in many galleries and renowned public shows. His paintings can be found in collections across Europe and North America.
